The compact Freeplay Companion Radio requires no batteries or wall sockets. The NiMH battery pack can be recharged by a hand crank, standard mini-USB adaptor (not included) or the unit's high performance solar panel. It will also plug into a wall outlet or can be placed in the sun to recharge the battery; a full charge provides up to 12 hours of playtime or 16 hours of light. When all else fails, the AM/FM radio can be hand cranked for power; one minute of winding stores up to 20 minutes of play. It also comes with extendable antenna, headphone jack and integrated LED flashlight.
